Women’s Centre of York Region (WCYR) creates a safe place for women to build self-esteem, develop action plans, and build skills to help themselves and their families. Throughout the pandemic, domestic violence has increased by over 30% in York Region alone. The proceeds from the M.H.C.F. will go towards counselling services to help women and their children leave an abusive relationship safely.
